There is always someone who can relate to your situation
During this book Things not seen by Andrew Clements we are able to clearly see, understand and analyze what exactly the theme of the book is and what the characters are like. Now while I was reading this I have come to the conclusion that the theme of the book is that You are never alone, I say this because of one of two things. One while Bobby one of the main characters in the story has come to find out that he is indeed invisible and can't be seen by anyone at all, he is devastated. But Bobby then by chance runs into a girl by the name of Alicia who he soon find out is in fact blind, also in some ways is able to relate to Bobbies situation that he is in. In the book Alicia, Bobby's friend tells him about how she became blind and felt exactly how Bobby felt, Invisible, Alicia says, "You remember how mad I got yesterday when you said you were invisible?" Bobby replies, "Yea." Alicia continues saying, Well, part of that was because that's exactly how I felt that first morning." (Andrew Clements 105-106). This evidence greatly supports the claim that the theme really truly is, you are never alone.
This book is absolutely fantastic in the sense of how well it makes and gets the points that it is trying to make across to the reader for him/her to understand it even further. The theme of the book you are never alone presents itself in many ways not always just sticking it straight out there for all to see but making you have to think through it and work for it.
setting the theme aside for the moment let's talk about the characters and the different traits each of them have. For the main character we have a boy named Bobby, he is in highschool and is somewhat socially awkward around girls and some strangers but as he gets to know people he really connects with them and opens up. Not only that but he is outgoing and curious with a hint of spontaneous bravery. For example in the book Bobby is curious and decides that he wants to perform an experiment of sorts by going to the library naked to really see if nobody could see him. this was said towards the beginning of the book "Before I leave the washroom, I look into the mirror above the sinks. I have to make sure I don't look how I feel. Because I feel the way I am which is totally naked." (Andrew Clements 21). This proves my claim that Bobby is a curious and brave young man quite strongly. This is a fantastic book and I would highly recommend it.
